Improvements to Old Oxford and Snow Hill Roads Intersection
Durham County, NC
This project includes the realignment of Snow Hill Road curve to the intersection, addition of a northbound left turn lane on Snow Hill Road, installation of turn signals, drainage improvements and extension of safety features.
The project included intensive coordination with local, state and federal agencies for the sake the it is entirely surrounded by federal, state and local protected resource lands. Coordination was held with the county for the sake of bike and pedestrian related concerns.
Rice provided the environmental analysis to complete the project’s environmental document, a Categorical Exclusion (CE) under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), community studies, public involvement and integrated mobility study for this project. Rice professionals also provided the field data collection, and cartography.
